Silva Magnet High School for Health Care Professions is a school
dedicated to the excellence in achievement of all students enrolled.
Silva is part of the El Paso Independent School District and has
been recognized for the past 5 years as an "Exemplary High School"
by the state of Texas.  Students enrolled at Silva come as far
away as Canutillo to the west and Fabens to the east.

Silva is the only school in the state at this point to offer classes in
clinical nutrition, gerentology, and pharmacology.
The Health Science Technology staff is comprised of
degreed medical professionals (see the Silva Staff link below).
Students in their junior year participate in clinical rotations to various
hospitals and clinics around the city.  Thomason General Hospital
and Texas Tech University Health Science Center are located
directly across the street from Silva, providing easy and
convenient access for student learning.

Silva High School is more than just a health school.  Silva provides
a full curriculum based education.  The core subjects (math, science,
English, and social studies) are integrated with health career
activities and assignments.  Students at Silva may participate in
such events as sports, fine arts, ROTC, speech and debate,
and journalism through Jefferson High School.

Students wishing to attend SIlva must apply for admission.
These enrollment admission forms may be obtained at the front
office of the school and must be submitted no later than the February
before the year of admittance.
